Fashion
This was the launch of Nthabiseng’s clothing brand in Maboneng Johannesburg. It was a lot of fun.
Some important points:
- Check permission at the location.
- Scout the scene days before and see where the sun is shining from. This will cut time on the day of the actual shooting.
- Check pedestrian movement and security.
- Photographer: Don’t go it alone; get a paid assistant.
- Take notice of sunrise and sunset times. Midday is too hot and the bright sunlight causes too sharp contrasts between sunlit areas and shade.
- Take some test shots and view them if possible on a laptop at the venue. The shots will only be usable for comparison if they are from the same time of day as the proposed actual shooting.
- All parties sit down and discuss. This should relax everyone on the day of the shooting.
- Now redesign the game plan according to the new info. Make sure everyone is clear on what is expected.
